Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS; IAST: Bhāratīya Nyāya Saṃhitā; lit. 'Indian Justice Code'), is the criminal code of the Republic of India. When it enters force, it will replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which was enacted in 1860. The BNS covers all aspects of criminal law, including offences, punishments, defences, and procedures.

On 25 December 2023, the Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita Bill, 2023 received the assent of the President of India.
